Jake: (cocking his head to the side eyes narrowing) what time are YOU waking up...?
Me: I asked you first...
Jake: 3AM I WILL be the first one to the stockings
Me: I am waking up at four...Ill wake you up and we can go through the goods together
Jake: Deal, see you in the morning

later that night around 2:30AM restless I wake up first confused and then realizing what day it is...first clear thought....SANTA!!!!!

I crept into Jake's room  woke him up...got out stockings...decided it was best not to sort the stockings and returned to bed

I shaved off my eyebrow

So....I may or may not have shaved off part of my eyebrow this morning...

you're probably thinking one of many things

things like...

how in the world is that possible girls don't even use razors on their face?
if you did nick your precious eyebrow hair somehow did you slash your BEAUTIFUL face open?
do you resemble the population of gangstas and thugs out there?

well let me clarify by sharing my story

there I was in the shower, it was a shower like most showers, but little did I know that todays shower was different.  Todays shower would temporarily alter my life

anyways I WAS JUST TRYING TO GET THE PLASTIC RAZOR PROTECTOR THING OFF!!!

I initially thought that I accidently got the end of my eyebrow but after feeling my eyebrow and checking for blood I thought all was well

but then I got out of the shower.....looked in the mirror...started screaming for my mom

she came running, started banging on the door and when I opened it, she started laughing.

there is a definite chunk of hair missing out of my eyebrow

thank goodness for eyebrow pencils you can hardly tell

the end MERRY CHRISTMAS!

New Years Eve (The Movie)

I am happy to say I loved it!

Every Wednesday night my Husband laces up his basketball shoes and hits the courts with our good friend Derek Hull.

Where does this leave myself and Dereks' lovely wife Debbie?

welp sometimes it leaves us cuddled up on the couch watching friends/ doing homework/ researching pinterest

sometimes it leaves us wondering the isles of Hobby Lobby with the DIY crafts from pinterest fresh in our minds

TONIGHT! (after Debbie finished up her last final) we wound up at the movie theaters!!!

after purchasing our tickets, might I add that Debbie almost made her almost snuck in Mike&Ikes fall out of her purse while searching for her debit card, we headed into an empty theater!!!!!

why it was empty I do not know because I certainly loved this movie

It wasn't cheesy like we expected!  It even made me tear up a few times:) AND it reminded me of how much I like to dance my face off!

so I am recommending this movie for the fun loving free spirits out there.

Run hard or run home

I am happy to say.

after three years and countless miles on my beloved cross training asics.  I have at long last retired them (something that really should have been done long ago)

and!

Merry Christmas to me!!!!!

I got these

You probably have heard about these
the Nike Free Run 2
They really are everything people say they are

I seriously considered getting the Nike Free TR
they look cooler and have great reviews
but unfortunately these fit my feet better
(not that I don't seriously love them)
and I hear they really mold to your foot well

Thank you Mr. Moffat!!!!!!!

Things are looking up my friend

I LOVE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!!!!!!!!

It's so satisfying finding something perfect for someone.  Not just something that they want.  But something with meaning!
I LOVE IT
I feel like I have been doing drugs.
I wish I could go into detail of what I have figured out so far!
But that would spoil it...I think...lets see if I can make it all the way to Christmas without spilling my guts.

anyways, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

YOU have the power

Today I was at the gym feeling sorry for myself because my knee has begun hurting

AND THEN

In hobbles a man with a severe limp shoes flung over his shoulder and a huge smile on his face,  this man who has a handicap was so happy that he had the chance to take care of his body despite the appearance  of having some limitation.

that was enough to switch my train of thought and snap me right out of it.

look people, it is so important that we take care of our bodies. Why? the most simple reason is that Heavenly Father gave them to us.

Want to know more reasons?  I am sure that if you tried you could think of many yourself

BUT

I have two parents who did for a time severely neglect their bodies.  They are both wonderful people who have taught me so much about what kind of person I want to be and should strive to be everyday.

However I have watched and learned the effect that neglecting your body can have long term and short term.  I can tell you right now that as so many sins can be...its not fair.  It's not fair to your own body,  The limitations that you put on your body can be minor or major but either way they are LIMITATIONS. Who wants that?  YOU SET THE EXAMPLE.  It's not fair to the people you love and that love you.  Do you know what it's like to watch someone you love deteriorate?   I have a testimony that some hard things really do happen for a reason, no one can help it.  But saying that, OTHER hard things happen because we have lead ourselves down that path, God always has a plan and has the ultimate control but is it fair to him to ask him to protect our lives and then get in the car and not fasten our seat belt?

With Gods help you have the power and the tools to be healthy.

What tools?

The internet!!!! holy smokes there is a whole heap of information for you.

ask a friend who seems to have it down.  ----people who have really understand the importance of health are DYING to share it,  they have become that much closer with heavenly father and chances are the recognize that this can be their own way of helping change the world---

lets promote my Mama who is now a health coach after losing 100+ lbs and is still going strong
http://behealthywithkaren.blogspot.com/

make a plan!  write down what you eat! don't even buy junk foods! make a budget and stick to it!

and if anyone actually reads this and they don't know what they should be doing or where to start call me. seriously.  Chase may wish I would keep brownie mix in our cupboard now but I know he trusts me every time I talk about how we are protecting ourselves from so much sorrow choosing a healthy lifestyle.

I hope no one gets confused because I am def not perfect.  I love a good birthday cake and the chocolates Deb keeps in her candy bowl are hard to resist but I have a goal, I have support, and its important to me.

Thanks for reading my rant.

Thats life

I was just thinking (something that is hard to do when you work graves...I have also heard it's hard during and after pregnancy...not that there is a bun in the oven)

Life is this big amazing thing.  There are so many opportunities, cultures, activities, information and much more available for us to participate in, learn about and experience. It's all about what we want and what we do about what we want, right?

It always blows my mind that the more I learn, the more I realize that there is SO MUCH to learn about anything and everything.

Why do people forget that God put so much beauty, life and complexity into everything and if they take a step back they might catch a glimpse of their own potential?

I know for me, sometimes I get so wrapped up in my own SMALL, seemingly busy life, that I forget how big and beautiful the world is and how amazing the people and things that God put everywhere are.

When I remember to step back I see a girl that I really love, that has such potential, that can make a huge impact.  She can do hard things.  She can love everyone around her.  She can influence and lead other people to be healthy mentally and physically.  She is full of life and energy.
....How come I forget about her? Because I get wrapped up in stupid details of life that don't matter and that girl gets SMOOSHED.  I really gotta work on that.

What makes me even more sad?  I KNOW so many people are at least similar to me.

Don't get me wrong.  A lot of people are so good at being so amazing almost always.

GOOD NEWS, I have been directed towards some formulas that really can remedy this tendency to forget.

Read your scriptures EVERYDAY...NO MATTER WHAT.
Exercise and eat right,  God gave us a body and wants it to be taken are of.
Pray every morning and night, before meals, and whenever you have something to be thankful for (aka always).
Pay attention at church.  Take notes!!!!!!
Listen to music that is soothing.
Don't watch or look at anything you don't want STUCK in your brain.

Maybe some more stuff.
With all my love.

1 brownie (2" sq) = 243 calories
2 TBS poppy seed dressing (kraft) = 130 calories

DIY Homemade Laundry soap

-I copy and pasted this from a blog I found on pinterest and had to share
Sick of buying laundry soap?? Me too. This stuff is awesome because it is way stronger then the store bought laundry soap. You only have to use 1 Tablespoon per load. This recipe makes a huge cookie jar full of soap and is going to last a life time, well maybe not quit that long. I got this from a lady who made her batch in July and she still has a ton and she does at least 8 loads of laundry ever week. So I am thinking it will last almost a year. 1 year of laundry soap for less than $20, have I got you sold yet? I love not having to buy laundry soap all the time anymore. This laundry soap also works just fine in  HE washers.

Here is what you need:

1 4 lb 12 oz box Borax (2.15 kg or 76 oz) found in the detergent isle

1 4 lb box Arm & Hammer Baking Soda (1.81 kg) found in the cooking isle

1  box Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda 55 oz (3 lb 7 oz) found in the detergent isle

3 bars of Fels-naptha soap, found in the detergent isle

2 small containers of oxyclean or store brand oxyclean (try to get about 3.5 lbs total (1.58 kg)) found in the detergent isle.
(this is optional, I added it into mine because I have pretty messy kids and the cleaner the better)

(you can also use pink Zote soap instead of Fels-naptha. I had really wanted to but could not find it anywhere) **Update: My sister found pink Zote soap at Home Depot**

You should be able to find all of these items at your grocery store.

This detergent is fairly mild smelling, it is not over powering. If you love a strong scent you may have to add a fabric softener to each load.

Start out by grating your Fels-naptha soap just like cheese. You can use a food processor or just use your hand held grater, what ever you have.
**Don't worry the Fels-naptha will dissolve in your washer even if you only use cold water like me.**

Toss all ingredients in a 5 gallon bucket lined with a garbage bag. This part makes your whole house smell great. Once everything is mixed store soap however you like. I chose a jar that I keep above my washing machine, I also got a little scoop to keep inside. Wasn't that easy? Sure was! Enjoy your soap.

Who wears the pants?

recently I had a comment on one of my Facebook pictures that I still don't quite understand.

(It's some form of a joke...I think)

anyways
it lead to chase and I having a discussion about who wears the pants in our relationship.

Mrs- "Chase who do you think wears the pants in our relationship?"

Mr- "I think that neither of us dominate our relationship"

Mrs- "Me too, well.... unless I want to wear the pants..."

Mr- "I am the captain of the ship because you say I can be....."

My favorite Journal

Chase and I are making an attempt to be healthier all around

Our new journal the "Journal of love" goes something like this almost every night

step 1  We write down everything we ate that day
step 2  We write a love note on the back side of the previous page

It really has helped us and even now I love looking back at previous notes.

                                                              THE END

Dinner is on the stove

Here I am :D

AGAIN listening to Christmas music.  But if someone out there actually looks at my blog regularly.  You already know how it makes me feel and I won't go mushy on you again.

I have completed/semi completed a couple of crafts I would like to share

On the top left we have an easy DIY Christmas ornament.  I got the inspiration off of my new favorite time waster pinterest.  don't know what it is? Don't check it out you will be almost instantly hooked.

what you need?

  • clear craft Christmas ornaments, plastic or glass whichever you prefer
  • paper, you can you use paper already printed on like I did or print off meaningful words phrases etc
  • scissors
  • ribbon (of your choice, my ribbon is in real life very beautiful it just doesn't look like it in the photo)

just cute the paper into strips curl them around a pencil put them in the ornament. BAM! done! they look awesome and are so easy and inexpensive

What are the Chalkboards/cork boards in the bottom left corner?

You may notice

A. I messed up
B. I forgot a before picture
C. If you have similar taste to my own you recognize how awesome there potential is!

anyways I just found both at D I for a total of 4 dollars.  I taped them up and spray painted them and had an accident.  BUT its ok I will fix it

Thats all

Organized Chaos

This was truly a crazy weekend (But a great one!)

  • One of my best friends/ cousins got married to a beautiful women.  (I was the best man!!!)

  • I met DAVID ARCHULETA in the temple!!! He got his endowments out the same session as my new sister Whitney

  • Neil invited him to their preception later that night and HE CAME.  (To bad I left a bit early to go meet up with my hubby)

  • The next day we went to their sealing and FINALLY The majority of my family got to meet Chase proving that he was not just some made up man in my mind.  (It has not worked out for him to attend a few family gatherings that I have gone to)

  • Chase took part in organizing a coat drive.  In about 3 hours we collected almost 1000! coats!!!!

  • The reason this was chaotic?  I work graves and was getting a very small amount of sleep.

Here are some pictures:)

First time Neil saw Whit in her dress:)

David!!!!!!!!!

1000 Coats!

These are the people who went out to collect the coats:)

Is it Christmas yet?

Here I am.

I just got home from the grocery store.  (Thank you Kate Butler for helping me find the chicken bullion it was a long search and you ended it)

So I unloaded my groceries put masking tape on my new chalk/cork boards from DI that I will soon be painting and turned on Christmas music.

You know the really good stuff? like Have your self a merry little Christmas by Canadian Brass

anyways I love it.  I feel so jolly:)

I have such a good life.  Chase and I are so fortunate.  We have so many blessings (some that I sometimes confuse with a curse)

Me being able to nab a man like Chase is a blessing enough.  He is always so nice.  Once when I was feeling a little down he even said "Liz what can I do for you?  I want nothing more than for you to be happy" BUT on top of that we are so blessed in almost all aspects of our life.

Maybe I am being to mushy for you but just put on some Christmas music you will feel sentimental too.

I LOVE EVERYONE

I put on my coat and stepped into winter

How can you realistically change the world?

I have always thought that to change the world I would have to do something huge.

You know like opening a chain of orphanages in different third world countries that are run completely by donation money and the hard work and education provided to  not only the children but the teachers and workers in agriculture, health, business, religion.  Not only would this benefit the children, but the teachers workers and all those who donated to this great cause... You know...basic stuff...

anyways... being newly married I have acquired some wisdom:) ;)
I have realized that changing the world does not have to be what seems to be a "huge" ordeal

WHAT IF! I smiled at someone who was having a bad day and not reaching their potential in any aspect of life? AND THEN they went on to charm their future spouse because of there now happy attitude AND THEN those two people fell in love, got married, and had a baby! AND THEN that baby grew up to be a righteous strong political leader and eventually became president changing the world for the good of ALL mankind.

have you ever read the book how to win friends and influence people?

"Imagine what miracle you and I can achieve by giving people honest appreciation this side of insanity"

anyways. Go change the world.  There are SO many ways

Happy Halloween
